We are a new community of concerned citizens and businesses that wants not only to boost our economy but bring about a shift in our attitude towards money.
Our local group in Warrensburg/Chestertown began thinking about the money issue last year under the name of Common Good Solutions and finally settled on the name “Adirondack Cooperative Economy”. We met at the Library, Town Hall, restaurants and private homes, read books, watched movies, interviewed many organizations across the US, Canada and even Germany. We met with the accountant from “Ithica Hours”. Some of us went down to Wall Street to attend a “money day” as part of the Occupy Movement. We assessed our locality and financial abilities and finally came up with what we are now presenting. It is a coming together of many ideas and experiences, the best system we could create – always open to suggestions and improvements.
